We hadden met Testaankoop een proeverij van "de meeste rode Bordeaux wijnen uit de warenhuizen". Dit waren er 20. We proefden blind, zoals het hoort, en gaven scores op 20.
Hiernaast zie je de namen, de supermarkt waar verkrijgbaar, de prijs, en onze scores (wij beiden verschilden nauwelijks).
En wat valt er op?
1. De gemiddelde score is 13,1/20! Als je dit afzet tegen de "laudatio magna" die Bordeaux 2009 overal wordt toegewuifd, dan valt dit eigenlijk tegen:we zitten gemiddeld op B+-niveau.
"Geen echte toppers" werd achteraf door meerdere panelleden gezegd, "wel enkele echt klasrijke wijnen".
2. Wat zeker meevalt is de gemiddelde prijs van ca 5 €. En de duurste zijn niet meteen de beste! Slotsom: ook bij 2009 moet je uitkijken! Hierna onze notities voor de 5 best scorende wijnen.

We had a blind tasting of "basic" red Bordeaux of the "famous because super" vintage 2009.

And what is our conclusion?
1. With an average score of 13,1/20, this sample does not get a prize! In our scale of B-AA, this is B+, " a fairly good wine, close to quite good".
"Nor real toppers, said several members of our Testaankoop panel, yet, there are a few quite good ones.
2. Prices are however low to very reasonable, with an average of 4,92 €. And lo and see: the higher priced are far from always the best, with one exception.

LE CAVALIER-ROI BORDEAUX 2009 - Bordeaux -

Voor het oog: kersenrood met paarse schijn, aantrekkelijk, stevig tranend (alcohol: 13,5%)
To the eye: cherry red with purplish taint, attractive, shows thick legs (alcohol 13,5%)
Aan de neus:
zowel fruitige (kers, cassis) als florale tonen met bovendien zoethout At the nose:
both fruity (cherry, cassis) ans floral tones, with also licorice
In de mond:
hetzelfde dubbelkarakter in de mond: diepfruitig (donkere kers) en floraal kruidig, ingebed in stevige tannines en goed zuur. Lange beklijvende afdronk In the mouth:
the same twofold palate character: deepfruity (dark cherry) and floral-spicy, embedded in solid tannin and fine acid; long pleasant finish
Conclusie
Ridderlijk is de naam, en zo ook de wijn: hij staat er uitgedost met een diepfruitig kleed, misschien net iets te vlezig (nog wat wachten) maar nu al indrukwekkend.
Conclusion
Knighty is the name ("cavalier") and so is this wine: upright, deepfruity dress, maybe a little bit too meaty right now (wait some months), but impressive

Conclusie
In Bordeaux 2009 kom je blijkbaar twee types tegen: donkerfruitige geconcentreerde vlezige wijnen, en frisfruitige en meer lichtvoetige charmante wijnen. Dit hier is een voorbeeld van het tweede type.

Conclusie
Een toonbeeld van wat een Lussac 2009 kan zijn: donkerrood rijp fruit, volkomen in balans met ondersteunende zuren en zijdige tannine en een elegante afdronk. Kan ook nog enkele jaren mee. Een aanrader! Grens A+/AA

Een Bordeaux van het type "donkerfruitig, kruidig, vlezig": bosfruit, peper, stevige tannines op een bedje van goede zuren. Kan nog 3-4 jaar mee. Grens A/A+

veel rijp rood fruit aan de neus - vooral kers en braam -en ook wat munt en eucalyptus At the nose:
lots of ripe red fruit - especially dark cherry and blackberry - and also touch of mint and eucalypt

volrijpe en krachtige aanzet met goede zuren en stevige maar niet-aggressieve tannines; lange diepfruitige en kruidige finale In the mouth:
full ripe and zesty onset with good acid underneath, and with solid yet non-aggressive tannin; long deepfruity and spicy finish
Conclusie
Deze wijn, die midden 2010 diepfruitig maar net nog iets te tanninerijk was, komt nu als welsiwaar stevig maar ook harmonieus en mondstrelend over. Medaille Concours Acquitaine
Conclusion
A zesty deep fruity yet also tannic wine, already quite good at mid-2010, has now in early 2011 become near excellent. Medal Concours Aquitaine Bordeaux
