DOS PILARES CARMENER MAIPO 2009 - Chile - Valle Maipo
2009
Voor het oog:
diep robijnrood met glanzende spiegel, de wijn kleurt bij walsen het glas, stevig tranend
To the eye:
deep ruby with shiny mirror, the wine taints the glass after shaking, shows thick legs
Aan de neus:
elegante neus van rood pitfruit (mét de pit), zuiderse kruiden, met toets leder en zwarte chocolade
At the nose:
elegant nose of red pitfruit (including the kernel), southern spices, touch of leather and black chocolate
In de mond:
donkerfruitige aanzet met opnieuw kers en pruim, ingepakt in verfrissende zuren en stevige maar niet-storende tannines; rijpfruitige en kruidige afdronk met kers in de retro
In the mouth:
dark fruity onset with again cherry and plums, surrounded by refreshing acid and solid yet non-disruptive tannin; ripe fruity and spicy finish with cherry in the retronasal phase
Conclusie
Een grootse Carmener die echt op "twee pijlers" rust: het sappige donkerrode fruit en de heel goede zuur-bitter balans. Eens te meer toont Chili wat de druif vermag. Grens A+/AA		   Conclusion
Great Carmener which is indeed built on "two pillars": the juicy dark red fruit and the very good sour-bitter balance. Chile shows again what Carmener is capable of
Drink bij:
Opnieuw een volrijpe wijn die je ook op zichzelf kan genieten. Verder krachtige vlees- en wildschotels, blauwgeaderde droge kazen (Shropshire)
Drink with:
Again a juicy full ripe wine that can be enjoyed on and by itself. Further solid meat and game dishes, blue cheeses (Shropshire)

Aan de neus:
mooi gemengde neus van enerzijds rijp exotisch fruit (mango, ananas) en anderzijds specerijen (kaneel) en kruiden, met ook vanille
At the nose:
nicely mixed nose of, on the one hand, ripe exotic fruit (mango, pineapple), and, on the other, spices (cinnamon) and herbs plus touch vanilla
In de mond:
even rijk smaakpatroon met weer uitbundig exotisch fruit en kruidigheid, geschraagd door goed zuur; lange elegante frisfruitige afdronk
In the mouth:
equally wealthy taste patter with again exuberant exotic fruit, light spices and supported by fine acid; long elegant fresh fruity finish
Conclusie
weelderige zuiderse Chardonnay: opstuivend exotisch fruit maar ook kruiden, goede zuren en milde tannines. Grens A/A+		   Conclusion
Juicy Chardonnay Chilean style: sumptuous exotic fruit but also spices, fine acid and mild tannin
Drink bij:
Je kan hem zowel als aperitief gebruiken (met wat geroosterde nootjes), dan wel bij stevige visschotels én quiche
Drink with:
One can hav it as apaeritif (with roasted nuts) as with solid fish dishes and quiche
