MATUA MARLBOROUGH SAUVIGNON BLANC 2009 - New Zealand - Marlborough

Voor het oog:
helder strogeel met groene flits, mooie spiegel
To the eye:
clear pale straw with greenish reflection
Aan de neus:
Dubbel gelaagde neus: bovenaan de florale tonen van kruisbesblad en tageten; daaronder witte perzik, passievrucht en citrus, met ook een houttoets
At the nose:
two-layer nose: on top floral tones of gooseberryleaf and tagetes; underneath white peach, passion fruit and citrus, plus also touch of wood
In de mond:
doorsmakende sappige en tegelijk weer florale smaak met tintelend zuur en een mooi bittertje in de lange finale
In the mouth:
juicy thorough tasting onset with again floral tones and titillating acid; nice bitter touch in the long finish
Conclusie
Heel mooie zuivere zowel sappige als bloemige SB: een sprankelende representant van NZ witte Sauvignon! En dat in zijn 4e jaar!		   Conclusion
Very beautiful clean and both juisy and floral SB: a nice representative of NZ Sauvignon Blanc! And this in its 4th year!
Drink bij:
we hadden hem als aperitief met amandelnootjes: heel goed. En verder bij een kruidig vispannetje (zalm, gamba, griet in tomatenroomsaus met lichte looksmaak) - ook weer heel goed passend
Drink with:
we had it as aperitif with roasted almond nuts: quite good! And also with fish sod (salmon, gamba, brill in tomatoed cream with touch of garlic)

MATUA MARLBOROUGH PINOT NOIR 2008 - New Zealand - Marlborough
2008
Voor het oog:
helder kersenrood met lichte evolutie, matige concentratie, weinig pigment
To the eye:
clear cherry slightly evolved, moderate concentration, little pigment
Aan de neus:
mooi gemengde neus met klein rood fruit (kers, aardbei, rode bes) en ook viooltjes plus terroir
At the nose:
nicely mixed nose with small red fruit (cherry, strawberry, redcurrant) and also violets plus woodland
In de mond:
frisse maar mondvullende aanzet met volrijp rood fruit (kers, aardbei) en een heel goede balans tussen fruit, zuur en bitterheid; vrij lange aangename afdronk met bes in de retro
In the mouth:
fresh yet mouth-filling onset with lots of ripe red fruit (cherry, strawberry) and a very good balance between fruit, acid and tannin; fairly long elegant finish with red berries in the retronasal phase
Conclusie
Zoals in vorige jaren: zowel fijnfruitige als frisse en elegante Pinot Noir van bij onze tegenvoeters. Grens A/A+. Dit jaar nog drinken!		   Conclusion
A both deep-fruity as well as quite elegant Pinot Noir from "far down under". Limit A/A+. Drink now
Drink bij:
We hadden hem zowel bij pasta met ham, parmezaan en selder als bij braadworst met spruitjes en nicolas aardappelen: telkens heel complementair met zijn fruitige zuren
Drink with:
we had it both with pasta, ham and parmesan cheese as with baked sausage, brussels sprouts and nicolas potatoes: quite good, because adding its fruity acid to the dish
