JACOB'S CREEK SHIRAZ ROSÉ 2009 - Australia - South East Australia
2009
Voor het oog:
heldere bleekroze kleur, blijkbaar korte maceratie (inweking voor gisting)
To the eye:
clear pale rosy colour, apparently no or very short maceration
Aan de neus:
klein rood fruit: kers, bes en framboos, en ook lichte florale toets (rozenblaadjes)
At the nose:
small red fruit at the nose (cherry, redcurrant and raspberry) plus light floral touch (rose petals)
In de mond:
niet geheel droge maar soepele frisse smaak, gedragen door fijne frisse zuren; elegante licht kruidige vrij lange afdronk
In the mouth:
supple and juicy, not bone dry; yet enough fine acid to give it elegance in the fairly long and lightly spicy finish
Conclusie
Opnieuw krijgen we hier een mooie Syrah-rosé: fijn rijp rood (bessen)fruit gekoppeld aan zachte zuiderse kruiden. Grens B+/A		   Conclusion
As before, the 2009 is an enticing Syrah-rosé: fine ripe red berry fruit combined with a touch of southern spices

mainly a sunny aperitif on a summer terrace; salads with nuts and dried fruit, shrimp salad

ROSÉ SYRAH FRAMBUESCA CHILE 2010 - Chile -
2010
Voor het oog:
zeer heldere frambozenkleur, traant vrij stevig
To the eye:
very clear raspberry, shows solid legs
Aan de neus:
heel fruitige neus met framboos, braambes maar ook karamel en rozenblaadjes
At the nose:
quite fruity nose with raspberry and blackberry but also sweets and caramel and rose petals
In de mond:
volfruitige aanzet met weer framboos en braam, gedragen door voldoende zuren en met een licht bittertje in de halflange afsronk
In the mouth:
full fruity onset with again rasp- and blackberry, supported by enough acid and a light bitter touch in the semilong finish
Conclusie
De wijn verwijst (iets te) uitdrukkelijk naar framboos, en heeft dat ook, maar bovendien donkerrood fruit plus snoepjestonen, wel getemd door voldoende zuur. Het Franse koppel Sabine&Bernard Dauré hebben zich in Colchagua gevestigd maken monocépages		   Conclusion
The label of the wine overtly points to raspberry, yet it has also dark fruit in its body plus sweets, and all this tamed by just enough acid

BANDOL ROSÉ PRESTIGE DOMAINE BARTHES 2009 - France - Bandol

heldere licht roze ajuinachtige kleur, doorschijnend
To the eye:
clear light rosy onion, transparent
Aan de neus:
eerste gesloten, dan aantrekkelijke zachtfruitige neus met meloen, stekelbes, kers en duidelijk kruidig ook (peper en thijm)
At the nose:
closed at first, then attractive soft nose with lime, gooseberry, cherry and a clear peppery and spicy touch
In de mond:
verrassend soepel rijp bessenfruit (framboos, rode bes) ingewikkeld in fijne zuren en kruidige tonen plus nootjestoets; elegante halflange afdronk, kruiden en bes in de retro
In the mouth:
mellow ripe berry fruit (raspberry, red currant) packed in fine acid and with spicy overtones plus nutty impression; elegant semilong finish with berry fruit and spices in the retronasal phase
Conclusie
Misschien iets minder dan in de vorige 5 jaren, maar toch weer een rosé die naast fruitige fraicheur vooral ook een mooie kruidige "beet" heeft: typisch Bandol.		   Conclusion
Perhaps a little bit less grandiose than in the last 5 years, yet still a rosé which offers fruity fraucheur next to a certain spicy "bite": typical Bandol
Drink bij:
Kan eventueel aperitief maar dan met hartige hapjes, en zeker ook goed bij visslaatjes of charcuterie of gegrild BBQ-vlees (ribbetjes)
Drink with:
Fine as aperitif but then with hearty snacks, also good with fish salads or delicatessen, and with BBQ grilled meat like spareribs

DOMAINE BOYAR BLACK ROSÉ 2010 - Bulgaria -

mooi helder kersenrood, traant behoorlijk
To the eye:
nice clear cherry red, shows legs
Aan de neus:
rijkgeschakeerde neus met veel klein rood fruit (kers, bes, framboos, aardbei), daarnaast bloemen (rozen) en een duidelijke stenig-aardse toets
At the nose:
multivaried nose with lots of ripe small red fruit (cherry, raspberry, redcurrant, strawberry) plus floral touch (rose petals) and a clear stony-earthy touch
In de mond:
even rijk smaakpatroon met weer al het kleinrood fruit (vooral kers en bes) gedragen door fijne zuren en een mooie licht kruidige bittertoets. Lange fruitig-kruidige afdronk
In the mouth:
equally rich palate with again all the ripe small red fruit (cherry, redcurrant!) cloaked in fine acid an nice spicy bitter touch; long fruity-spicy finish
Conclusie
Wat Boyar al deed in wit en rood doet het ook in rosé: klasse goed gemaakte rosé met rijkgeschakeerd kleinrood fruit, fijne zuren en aangename kruidige bitterheid. Beter nog dan 2008/9. En dat voor die prijs!		   Conclusion
What Boyar has been achieving in whites and reds, happens also here: classy well-made rpsé with ample smal red fruit, fina cid and pleasant spiciness. And all this for little money!

lively cherry, fairly thick legs
Aan de neus:
rijke fruitige neus met kers, bes, aardbei, framboos en daarnaast ook kruiden, een zuurprik en een aardse toets
At the nose:
panoply of ripe small red fruit impressions (cherry, redcurrant, rasp- and strawberry), plus spices, an acid prick and a touch of earth
In de mond:
het rijpe bessenfruit komt in de mond terug, getemd door goede zuren en een mooi kruidig bittertje; halflange fruitig-kruidige afdronk
In the mouth:
the ripe berry fruit is coming back on the palate, tamed by good acid and a nice spicy bitter touch; semilong fruity-spicy finish
Conclusie
Zowel fruitige als friszurige-kruidige rosé met aardse tonen - blijkbaar te danken aan de blend van zowel Castelate en Camarate (fruitig) als Cabernet Sauvignon (kruidig). De reeks Bons ventos is van faliliebedrijf Santos Lima		   Conclusion
Both fruity and freshly acid plus spicy rosé with earthy tones; apparently coming from the blend of Castealte & Camarao (fruity) and Cabernet Sauvignon (spicy)

is meer eet- dan drinkwijn: charcuterie, spaanse of portugese gedroogde ham, esqualivadas (gemrineerde rode pepers), lamsribbetjes
Drink with:
more of a dinner- than a drinking pleasure wine: delicatessen, dried country ham, marinated red pepper, rib of lamb
