CHATEAU TANUNDA RIESLING BAROSSA 2008 - Australia - Barossa

Voor het oog:
Zeer helder citroen- tot goudgeel, traant behoorlijk
To the eye:
crystal clear lemon-to-gold,viscous
Aan de neus:
breedsporige neus met witte perzik, limoen, pompelmoes en heel duidelijke mineraaltoets
At the nose:
broad nos with white peach, lime, grapefruit and a very clear mineral touch
In de mond:
De hele neus komt terug: rijpe perzik, limoen, mineralen maar ook exotisch fruit (lichee) ingebed in frisse zuren, en met een lange beklijvende fruitig-mineralige afdronk
In the mouth:
all the nose had to offer comes back on the palate: ripe peach, lime, minerals yet also exotic fruit (lichee), embedded in fresh acid; long impressive fruity-minerally finish
Conclusie
Australische Riesling? Jawel, en blijkbaar een dichte neef van goede jonge Moezelriesling: rijp wit en exotisch fruit, mineralen, heel frisse zuren. Klasse!		   Conclusion
Australian Riesling? Oh yes, and its like a close nephew of young Mosel Riesling: ripe white and exotic fruit, minerals and very fresh acid.Classy!
Drink bij:
Zowel aperitief als bij oesters en schaaldieren, thaise currygerechten plus ook appeltaart (zoals wij deden)
Drink with:
Both aperitif wine and good companion to crustacea, Thai curry dishes plus also apple cake (as we did)

geconcentreerd robijnrood, met wat evolutie
To the eye:
concentrated red ruby, with brownish rim
Aan de neus:
een versmolten neus met zachte Syrah-geuren: chocolade,koffie, donkere kers, pruimen- en bosbessenconfituur, zachte eik, en duidelijk ook leder
At the nose:
integrated mellow aromatic spectre: dark chocolate, coffee,plum and hillberry jam, soft oak, and clearly also leather
In de mond:
wat de neus belooft krijg je in de mond: gevuld donkerrood fruit, chocolade-koffie, verfrissend zuur en soepele tannines; heel lange zalige afdronk
In the mouth:
similar rich palate with a full balance of dark fruit, chocolate/coffee, refreshing acid and silky tannins; very long heavenly finish
Conclusie
Dit blijft een heel mooi Barossa, die ons aan de beste Hermitages herinnert: fruitig, krachtig maar vooral ook grote elegantie. En let op de prijs! Wel nu drinken! Aarzeling A+/AA		   Conclusion
A very attractive Barossa, reminding us of the best Hermitages (Rhone): fruity, meaty and above all elegant. Quite good qualit-price relationship. Drink now! Hesitation A+/AA
Drink bij:
We hadden hem bij sappige eendeborst in wijnsaus (chianti) met eekhoorntjesbrood en knapperige aardappelkoekjes: prachtcombinatie!
Drink with:
We had it with juicy breast of duck in winesauce (Chianti), with mushrooms from the wood and crisp potatoe cookies: magnificent companion!
